Using Smart Phones Is At the Level of Addiction

We became social media addicts as the whole country

The first step of the survey series to take the pulse of people, which was initiated by aksoy research, was published in december. Surveys about different topics such as turkish people’s values, opinions, and behaviors will be shared with the public regularly.

According to the first one of those surveys which was carried out with 1500 participants and named as “what do you look at first when you wake up in the morning?”  We, as the whole country, are cell phone addicts.

During the survey, participants answered two questions. First one of them is “what do you look at first when you wake up in the morning?” And the other oneis “what else do you look at when you wake up?”

55% of the participants answered “what do you look at first when you wake up?” As their cell phones.

The participants that look at their cell phones first in the morning use these mobile apps the most: whatsapp, facebook, e-mail, instagram and twitter.

While only 15% of the participants look at their wives’/husbands’/girlfriends’/boyfriends’ face in the first place, 3% look at their kids, 2% look at mirrors, checking cell phones with a 55% rate shows the change in consumer habits.

When participants were asked “what else do you look at in the morning?( for example, first i look at my wife’s/girlfriend’s face, then check my phone) the rate of checking cell phones in total reaches to 75% and takes the first place in the list.

Only 6% of the participants stated that they look at their tvs when they wake up.
